The poster, shared by investigative journalist Jackson Ude on Twitter, showed Jonathan as the presidential candidate, with former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso as his running mate.
The poster bears the slogan, “Let’s restore our country back, come 2027.”
This move echoes a similar situation in 2022, ahead of the 2023 presidential election, when a group of supporters from Northern Nigeria purchased nomination forms for Jonathan to participate in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary election.
Despite the pressure, Jonathan ultimately declared that he would not contest in the 2023 presidential race.
Goodluck Jonathan served as Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015 under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which is now the opposition party.
